South Ribble Leisure Card

South Ribble Borough Council introduced the Leisure Card to help improve residents participation in leisure activities who are on a low income, receipt of benefits or in other specific categories.  Residents of South Ribble who purchase a Leisure Card are entitled to discounts on a wide range of leisure facilities at South Ribble Leisure Centres, on production of the card.

The Leisure Card can be purchased at Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre, Leyland Leisure Centre, Penwortham Leisure Centre and South Ribble Tennis & Fitness Centre.

The card is valid for up to three years from the date of issue.

Who can join?

A Leisure Card is available to any resident of the Borough of South Ribble aged 14 years plus
and who falls into one of the following categories:

Note: 

• Each individual applying for a Leisure Card shall be expected to enclose one of these documents in theappropriate category when enrolling.
• Once issued, the Leisure Card entitles the holder’s children under the age of 16 to the same concessionswhen accompanied by the passport holder. The children to be named on the Leisure Card.
• Leisure Card must be produced for each visit to the Centre.

How much does the Leisure Card cost?

Categories A, B, D, F, G and H

The Leisure Card costs £2.00 for a period of twelve months.

Categories C and E

• The Leisure Card costs £5.00 for a period of three years.
  Lost or replacement cards cost £2.00 each.
• The activity charge is available on request at the centres.
  Can I borrow equipment?
• All equipment necessary can be borrowed from the Leisure facilities, free of charge.

What times are available?

The Leisure Card can be used Monday - Friday from early morning opening until 5.00pm at Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre, Leyland Leisure Centre, Penwortham Leisure Centre and South Ribble Tennis and Fitness Centre and all day at weekends. Where applicable, the Leisure Card can
be used during ALL Public Swimming sessions.

*Disabled category users can use the facilities at any time when open to the public.

PLEASE NOTE:
Whilst the Leisure Card gives you access to the listed activities at the indicated times available, it will
not allow admission to centre courses, organised activities or special events.

You must apply in person at:

Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre
Tuesday 9:30 am - 12:00 Noon

Leyland Leisure Centre
Tuesday 9:30 am - 12:00 Noon

South Ribble Tennis & Fitness Centre
Thursday 9:30 am - 12:00 Noon

Penwortham Leisure Centre
Wednesday 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Remember to bring...

• Completed Application Form
• Proof of eligibility (see table opposite)
• Document with home address (e.g. Driving Licence) or photocopy if postal application.
  (A personal letter will not suffice).
• £2.00 or £5.00 (Cheques payable to Serco Leisure Operating Limited).

OR apply by post to individual centres

NOTE:
Postal applications will be dealt with as appropriate at the Centre. 

Squash and Badminton Activities

If the card holder is playing Squash/Badminton with a non card holder, the person not on the scheme will be responsible for the payment of the fill hire charge of the court.
