South Ribble Borough Council introduced the Leisure Card to help improve residents participation in leisure activities who are on a low income, receipt of benefits or in other specific categories. Residents of South Ribble who purchase a Leisure Card are entitled to discounts on a wide range of leisure facilities at South Ribble Leisure Centres, on production of the card.
The Leisure Card can be purchased at Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre, Leyland Leisure Centre, Penwortham Leisure Centre and South Ribble Tennis & Fitness Centre.

A Leisure Card is available to any resident of the Borough of South Ribble aged 14 years plusand who falls into one of the following categories:
A) Unemployed
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Jobcentre Plus Notification Letter Certificate of Benefit
B) Student in Full Time Education(i.e. at least 15 hours and not in any paid employment)
Student Certificate (available from the college or university) Time Education Letter from the principal Letter from the Headteacher (6th Form)
C) DisabledResidents under 16 years old are eligible within this category
DWP Order Book - Severe Disablement AllowanceIncapacity Benefit - Industrial InjuriesAttendance Allowance - Working Tax CreditAttendance Allowance - (Disabled Worker Element)
D) Carers
Note: If you are in receipt of Disability Living Allowance or Severe DisablementAllowance, then you are entitled to have someone to accompany you to yourleisure and recreation activity. There will be no charge for carers except if thecarer is using the fitness suite equipment then the Leisure Card chargewill apply. This concession has an annual cost of £2.00.

The Leisure Card costs £2.00 for a period of twelve months.
Categories C and E
The Leisure Card can be used Monday - Friday from early morning opening until 5.00pm at Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre, Leyland Leisure Centre, Penwortham Leisure Centre and South Ribble Tennis and Fitness Centre and all day at weekends. Where applicable, the Leisure Card canbe used during ALL Public Swimming sessions.
*Disabled category users can use the facilities at any time when open to the public.
PLEASE NOTE:Whilst the Leisure Card gives you access to the listed activities at the indicated times available, it willnot allow admission to centre courses, organised activities or special events.

If the card holder is playing Squash/Badminton with a non card holder, the person not on the scheme will be responsible for the payment of the fill hire charge of the court.
